Exit: the emergency withdrawal
Every deposit in the pool has an exit that no one can block. Not the compliance screen, not the operator. The app calls it Exit. It's on each transaction row and on the pool page. This page is what to expect when you use it.
What Exit does
Exit takes one deposit out of the pool and returns it to the wallet address that owns it. It skips the compliance check entirely, which is the point: it's how you get your money back if your deposit is declined or removed from the approved set.
Because it skips the check, it's public. The exit transaction shows the amount and the address it went to, and it links that deposit to that address. You give up the privacy of that one deposit. The rest of your balance is unaffected.
When to use it
- Your deposit shows At risk, declined or rejected by the compliance screen, and you want the money back. Exit is kept available on those rows for exactly this.
- You've decided you'd rather hold the funds publicly than wait.
If your deposit is simply Pending, wait. Most approvals take minutes to an hour on mainnet, though it can be up to a week. Exiting a pending deposit costs you its privacy for nothing.
For everything else, use Withdraw. It's private and it can draw on several deposits at once. Exit does one deposit per transaction.
What you need
- A registered wallet. Exit proves that the owner is on the pool's registry, the same as any spend. If you haven't registered, the app walks you through it first. It's a wallet transaction, so this path isn't offered as relayer-paid.
- The owner wallet connected. The exit is sent from the wallet that owns the deposit, and the money goes to that same address. An account-key session can't do it. Connect the owner wallet, or use Withdraw instead.
- The receipt. The app requires you to keep the exit receipt. Don't skip it.
Two kinds of note Exit can't reach
- Money received through a payment request, before you've claimed it. Those notes are tied to the request instead of to your address until you claim them, so there's no owner address for the exit to pay. Claim first, then Exit works. See Claiming money you've received.
- Nothing your device hasn't found yet. Exit works on the notes the app can see.
If the deposit was earning yield
A deposit in a yield pool is held as the pool's yield token, not as the coin. Exit pays out what the pool holds, so you may receive that yield token in your wallet instead of ETH or USDC, and converting it back may need a separate step. If you exit a yield position and the balance that arrives isn't the coin you expect, contact support before doing anything else with it. The private Withdraw route redeems to the coin for you and is the better exit from a yield pool whenever it's available.
The privacy cost, in one line
Exit publicly connects one deposit to one address. Use it when you need an exit nobody can block, and use Withdraw the rest of the time.
